Belgian Croix de Guerre
 
Criteria
Awarded by the Belgian Nation in grateful recognition of service in a campaign flying with the Belgian Air Force (as for instance in the AirWar), during which the recipient flew as a Belgian in Belgian colours.
 
History
The 1914-18 Croix de Guerre was instituted on the 25th of October 1915. It was awarded for bravery, and also for a period of service (three years front-line service was the norm). It was awarded to foreign military personnel, including 11 RFC/RAF aces.
