Military Cross

Criteria
A member of 266 may receive the Military Cross for a single act of service to the squadron, such as the creation or major alteration of the website or paints, a successful recruitment drive, organising a squadron server, organising squadron participation in a war or other such services at the squadron's discretion. Recommendations should be made to the RO, and will then be ratified by the CO, RO and the flight leaders. On performing a second or subsequent such action, the recipient will be awarded a bar to the MC.

History
The Military Cross was instituted on 28th December 1915 as a recognition of distinguished and meritorious service in battle in situations not sufficient to warrant the Victoria Cross. Officers of the rank of Captain and below were eligible during the First World War; it was frequently awarded to RFC officers for achieving a good "score".
