Russian Order of St Vladimir
 
Criteria
Awarded for service in a campaign flying with the Russian Air Force (as for instance in the AirWar), during which the recipient flew as a Russian in Russian colours, as grateful recognition by the Russian nation of that service.
 
History
The Order of St Vladimir was established by the Empress Catherine II of Russia on the 22nd of September 1782. Originally a civil award, it was awarded for military gallantry ("with swords") from the Crimean War onwards. It was occasionally awarded to foreign servicemen.
